Shower Leak Repairs Sydney

Loose silicone, worn grout and dampness in another room are not interchangeable problems. Start with what you can see, when it happens and whether the shower has been repaired before.

Make the symptoms useful

Send a full shower photo, close-ups of damaged joints and a photo of any dampness outside the shower. Note whether it appears during use, later or while the shower is unused. This helps identify what needs further investigation.

Separate surface work from deeper repairs

Replacing deteriorated silicone or grout can be appropriate for a confirmed surface-maintenance issue. It cannot be presented as a universal solution for concealed membrane failure or plumbing leakage. A plumbing concern may need assessment by the appropriate trade.

Compare the proposed outcome

Ask what the repair is intended to resolve, what it leaves in place and what would trigger a broader scope. A quote should also state shower downtime and the agreed follow-up if the original symptom returns.

What to discuss in your scope

  • Shower leak and moisture enquiries
  • Grout and silicone condition discussion
  • Repair boundaries and investigation requirements
  • Tiling and waterproofing reinstatement options

What can affect the quote?

A useful quote is based on the condition of the property and the agreed work. These details can make a difference:

  • Leak source and access for investigation
  • Condition of tiles, joints and surrounding finishes
  • Extent of removal and reinstatement required

Damage discovered during opening-up

One tile replacement revealed hidden timber damage

A customer asked Ellis to replace one tile beside a bath. Opening the wall revealed decayed timber behind the tiles, changing the scope of the repair.

A clear repair quote starts with the condition beneath the tiles, as well as the finish you can see.

Questions about this service

Can a leaking shower be fixed without removing tiles?

Sometimes a confirmed surface or fitting problem can be addressed without tile removal. That does not establish that every leak can be repaired this way. The method must follow the assessed cause.

Should I keep using a shower that is leaking into another room?

Avoid further use where practical until the issue has been assessed, and tell the property manager or strata contact if another lot or common area is affected.
